betterSoil at Linkedin Local Ulm and Uzin Utz
Sustainability is reaching more and more companies. The interest is increasing. Recently, betterSoil was invited to Linkedin Local Ulm to talk about our commitment. At the company Transporeon in Ulm, about 60 people from the business sector listened with interest.
One reason why sustainability is becoming increasingly important is that customers are asking how a product is made. On the other hand, companies are increasingly required by law to report on their activities in the area of sustainability.
Sustainability thought globally
Uzin Utz, a global flooring company, has been publishing sustainability reports for several years. At a workshop of co-sustainability managers, it was all about the big picture: In the betterSoil presentation, Azadeh Farajpour and Tobias Orthen showed why sustainability in companies makes sense in the first place.
How is population growth worldwide related to resource consumption, CO2 emissions and climate change? Why can't countries solve the problems on their own? The private sector has 5-7 times as much capital as the states, the public sector. Therefore, companies have a long lever and can make a big difference.
Moving forward with momentum
We dig it! This was true for the participants on the roof terrace at Transporeon while networking after the presentation. As a manufacturer of various flooring systems, Uzin Utz has a natural connection to the ground. The great potential of improving soils for more climate protection, more biodiversity and ultimately for healthy food was new to many. But all the more exciting for that reason.
It was particularly well received that betterSoil not only works together with companies (whether in the supply chain or with talks) but also promotes humus formation in the soil directly on site with farmers. The combination of theory and practice is key.
