betterSoil & Google

The challenges ahead as represented by the SDGs are ambitious and require speed and scale. With Google’s help, we in the Startups for Sustainable Development program are addressing our obstacles to make a global impact in climate, agriculture, health, education, and more.

betterSoil off to Google

    Invited by Google

This year we had an interesting conversation with a Google investor at the betterSoil booth at ChangeNOW. He introduced the concept of Google Startups for Sustainable Development and asked us how we can contribute to it. Soil is our contribution and soil health is our solution to achieve 14 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. A few days later, we received an email inviting us to contribute our solution to the programme and be part of this initiative that includes soil as an innovative solution to maximise impact. Let's keep the fire burning for better soils together!

    Got involved and be onboarded

A few days after we had submitted our solution and applied for the Google programme, we found an email in our inbox that began with the words: "Congratulations! You are invited to join our Startups for Sustainable Development programme". OMG! Isn't that cool?!? One step closer to Google now. At the end of May, there was an introductory event for some startups that were accepted into the programme to get to know them. At the introductory event, we were introduced to the programme and the platform where we can find different workshops and trainings to dive deep into the Google world and book a meeting with an advisor. Every startup has an SSM. SSM stands for Starup Success Manager, who helps us utilise Google's resources to achieve our goals. We are still excited to be part of this programme and still have a smile on our faces.

    What's still to come

By joining forces with Google Startups for Sustainable Development, we can access a wealth of resources and support to help us measure and scale our impact as well as reach a wider audience. This includes mentorship from experts, funding opportunities, and access to Google's vast network of partners and collaborators. Additionally, partnering with the Google program will enable us to tap into the latest technologies and innovations that Google has to offer, helping us to further enhance our products and services. This collaboration will also provide us with valuable insights and data that can help us better understand the needs of our customers and improve our offerings. We believe that working together with the Google program Startups for Sustainable Development will not only help us to grow and succeed as a startup, but also to make a meaningful impact in the field of soil health and sustainable agriculture. We are excited about the possibilities that this partnership holds and look forward to the opportunities it will bring for us to create a more sustainable future for our planet.
